Dear Neighbor,

As of March 24, 2025, I am no longer Alderman of Chicago’s 35th Ward, as I stepped down to become the General Superintendent and CEO of the Chicago Park District, the nation's third-largest park system.

I am so proud to have represented the 35th Ward and our neighborhoods of Albany Park, Avondale, Hermosa, Irving Park, and Logan Square in the Chicago City Council from 2015 to 2025. I know that the 35th Ward is in good hands with our new representative on the Chicago City Council, Alderman Anthony Quezada.

To connect with Alderman Anthony Quezada and the 35th Ward office, please visit their new website at www.ward35.org.

Thank you, 35th Ward residents, for your trust and support over the last ten years and five elections—three as your alderperson and two as your Democratic Committeeman. I will put to good use the lessons I learned from our ward’s wonderful communities and families in my new role as a leader for all of Chicago.

With deepest gratitude,

Carlos
